Common Questions

How do you assign shops? 

Our notification of shops is automated.  Our system assigns a latitude and longitude to the shopper and the location.  The qualification of assignments starts based on proximity (how close you are to the location). 

Can I assign myself to a shop?  

We are automated for shoppers to self-assign.  However, sometimes schedulers will send out mass emails when we are unable to schedule through our automated system. 

Can I take someone with me?

A few of our clients have specifically requested for children to come along on shops.  Others allow it, although it is not mandatory.  We do, however, have some shops where children would be inappropriate. 

Some shops also will specifically request you bring a companion.  If it does not specify, please read through the shopper directions thoroughly before performing the shop.

What if I can’t do my shop due to extenuating circumstances? 

If you cannot make the scheduled date of your shop, please notify your scheduler immediately.  We are willing to work with you, but please be honest with us.  It is always better to let us know rather than fail to communicate. 

When will I be paid?

We pay within 35 days of the shop’s submission.  In order to be paid on time and promptly, we need you to make sure your report is in by the deadline and you have submitted any applicable receipts, business cards or other attachments with your shop.

How will I be paid? 

If you gave your PayPal information when you signed up, you will be paid via that method.  If no information was provided, we will mail a check. We prefer to use PayPal.  Set up an account

Will I be able to see my report after I submit it?

While you are entering your information, you are able to save your edit as many times as you like and return to it when you are ready and review the information (please submit within 24 hours).  However, once you hit submit, you will not be able to view it again. 

How will I know how I did?  Do you keep a record of my shop scores?

Assignments are reviewed by junior editors.  We have strict quality control practices in place to ensure we put out accurate, thorough product.  Editors check for grammar, content, scoring problems and any potentially conflicting information.  If they need help understanding your assignment, you will be contacted by an editor, and you will have a limited timeframe to reply.  Your rank will be based on the work you submit, and all editors MUST email each and every shopper with a rank (1 to 5) and applicable feedback for each and every assignment. 

Is there a busy time of month when shops are scheduled or is it anytime during the month?  

Most shops schedule during the last week of the month for the following month since we try to start shopping during the first week; however, some clients have off-month shopping where notices can be sent at any point during the month.  You will be notified of any available shops, regardless of when it is during the month.
